A sacred day to cleanse sins and attain divine blessings through devotion to Lord Vishnu.
Papmochani Ekadashi is a sacred fasting day dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is believed that observing this fast removes sins and purifies the soul.
This holy Ekadashi occurs during the Krishna Paksha of the Chaitra month. Devotees observe fasting, prayer, and spiritual discipline on this day.
According to ancient scriptures, Sage Medhavi was performing deep meditation in a forest when the celestial apsara Manjughosha disturbed his penance.
After realizing that his meditation was broken, the sage became angry and cursed Manjughosha to become a ghost.
Manjughosha prayed for forgiveness. The sage advised her to observe the fast of Papmochani Ekadashi.
After observing Papmochani Ekadashi with devotion, Manjughosha was freed from the curse and regained her divine form.
• Removes sins • Purifies the soul • Brings peace and prosperity • Grants Lord Vishnu's blessings
Papmochani Ekadashi reminds us that sincere repentance and devotion can cleanse even the deepest sins.
